A woman drove in and took literature from one of our prayer warriors as she stopped in the driveway. He told her we could help her with whatever she needed. She still drove in, and went inside, but she came back out after just a minute.
She left quickly, but we waved her over to ask if she had changed her mind. She said, “Yes.” When I asked if we could exchange information because we would love to throw her a baby shower, she hesitated and said she wasn’t really ready for that. We talked again about all the support she can get at the Women’s Care Center.
She seemed happy that there was help and she drove off. A few minutes later we saw her car at the end of the block again, seeming to weigh her options one last time, before leaving for good. Please continue to pray for this woman so we don’t see her back next week.
I posted the above to a private Facebook page and someone seeing it contacted me with the rest of the story! We rarely hear the rest of the story! God is good all the time!
The baby has a birth defect and the ob-gyn told the mother it would be cruel to let the baby live. She made the appointment at the abortion facility like her doctor recommended. She remembers Dave’s kindness in offering help, but knew he couldn’t really do anything about her situation.
While she was checking in at the abortion facility, they told her that her problems would be gone soon. The thought of calling her son a problem hit her wrong and she left. Then they called her and said they could only hold her spot for a few more minutes. She drove back, sat at the end of the block and said the “Serenity” prayer.
When she finished the prayer, she looked up and saw a family praying. The youngest boy looked to be her daughter’s age, and she knew that was God saying, “Don’t do this.”
She went to a friend’s house in tears over what she had almost done. The friend actually knew someone with the same birth defect, they talked. She then called her daughter and told her that her baby brother will be just fine as long as they get rid of the gloom and doom doctor.
