In our experience, many abortion-minded women choose life simply because they find out they are having twins.
However, in this case from Nov. 25, the woman knew she was carrying twins when she drove to Planned Parenthood in St. Paul for an abortion appointment. The following story is from reports by volunteers Will G. (a new sidewalk counselor) and Scott P. (a long-time sidewalk counselor).
They were able to talk with the woman for about five minutes when she stopped at the entrance because there were no PP escorts there at the time. Scott wrote in his report, “She said that she already had two other children and the father was homeless and unemployed.
She felt that abortion was her only option. She seemed to understand that these were human babies that she was going to kill. She was very emotional and crying. Will did an excellent job of giving her the facts as well as an emotional plea to keep her babies and seek help. I think the only reason she drove in was because the security guard came out and told her to keep driving.”
However, she sat in her car for about 50 minutes (looking at the literature that she had received from the sidewalk counselors) and did not go into PP. When she drove out, she told Will and two other volunteers who had arrived for their shift that she didn’t do it!
“She was crying, but had the biggest and most beautiful smile on her face,” Will wrote. “She was glowing! The three of us celebrated with her! I can’t believe I got to be a part of that. Glory to God!”
