At 9:00 a.m. on February 18, the first day of this year’s Lenten 40 Days for Life campaign, a couple that was driving towards the abortion facility (Red River Women’s Clinic) pulled over when sidewalk counselor Easton waved them to the side of the road.
He told them their child was a gift from God and then told them about the free help at the Women’s Care Center across the street. They spent an hour talking to the counselor at the Care Center, but then went home to think, still not sure what to do. Easton asked everyone in our sidewalk counseling group to pray. I e-mailed the entire 40 Days for Life team in Moorhead, asking them to pray for the couple as well.
Easton stayed in touch with them, helping them connect with resources and with his church, and on March 5, he let me know that the couple has firmly committed to keeping their baby.
