God Worked a Miracle on a Very Cold Day!

by Lynn B.

At about 3:15 p.m. on Monday, February 17, with the temps hovering around the high for the day of -2 degrees F, a vehicle pulled out of Planned Parenthood in St. Paul. The passenger rolled down her window to take my literature. “Hello, here’s some important info for you,” I said. “Were you here regarding a pregnancy?”

She said she had an ultrasound. “Oh, so you’re having a baby? How far along are you?” I asked. She said she was 15 weeks along.

I asked, “So did you change your mind during your appointment?” Yes, she replied. Her ultrasound helped change her mind. I asked if our presence outside helped her to decide to keep her baby. She replied that, yes, that a woman was there when she went in.

I congratulated her on her baby and asked where she lives to recommend a pregnancy resource center close to her. I told her about Crystal Women’s Clinic and Abria Northside. She seemed glad to know about these. I gave her a baby model in a gift box, saying her baby was bigger than the 10-week baby that I gave her. I asked her name and got her phone number and hopefully will hear back from her in the future.

Carol I. and Mina R. are the team members on the shift prior to mine. I figured out that they were most likely the ones there when she and her sister entered. Carol said she didn’t get literature to this mother but she called out her normal messages: “If you’re pregnant, you need to know that abortion is harmful to women. You have real choices and we’d love to talk to you about them. If you have an ultrasound, be sure to look at it.” She also tells them about Abria.

Carol and Mina have often prayed that the families will be able to hear Carol calling out, even if by supernatural means, over the loud traffic noises on Vandalia Ave. Today must have been one of those days that God worked a miracle!
