Another Baby Saved at WW!

By Debra Braun, Education Director

In a situation quite similar to the baby saved at Whole Woman’s (WW) in Bloomington on August 13, another baby was saved there on Friday, August 29! Volunteer sidewalk counselor Mary Kay L. was watching for cars coming down the frontage road a distance from WW’s driveway. An Uber driver with a young woman in the back seat stopped and took literature from Mary Kay. Then Mary Kay reached in and gave literature to the woman and had time to speak to her.

The driver dropped the young woman off at WW, but a short time later she came out. I found out that she was 12 weeks pregnant and decided not to abort! I asked her what changed her mind and she hesitated a bit and then said, “Well, she’s a baby.”

I asked if our presence there helped in her decision and she said yes. I explained the help available to her, made sure she still had our literature, and gave her my business card and a map card to the nearest two pregnancy resource centers. I also showed her a fetal model which she took.

She was outside walking around for quite a while until her Uber arrived, so Mary Kay had another chance to talk with her. The young woman told her also that she wasn’t going to abort and took Mary Kay’s number. And volunteer sidewalk counselor Marie H. also had the opportunity to give her support and her phone number.

We all rejoiced in this life saved and this mom spared the trauma of abortion. Mary Kay added that she is very grateful to the staff of Pro-Life Action Ministries for all the good advice and guidance for her as a sidewalk counselor. WE are very grateful to all our dedicated volunteers!
