Three young Hispanic girls drove into Planned Parenthood (PP) for an abortion. I spoke to the driver and the other sidewalk counselor, Sandy I., spoke to the passenger. We gave them our Spanish literature and I gave them a 10-week fetal model.
They continued into PP so we thought that the girl wanting the abortion was still going to pursue it. However, as soon as they got to the end of the driveway, they made a U-turn and came right back out. I pulled up the Spanish translator app on my phone to communicate with them and they agreed to meet me around the corner.
As I was walking to meet them, Theresa was passing by with her pro-life sign so I asked her to pray that this encounter would turn into a save, which she did. When I met them around the corner, I showed them on the translator app, “You just saved your baby’s life; that took courage.”
I directed them to the pregnancy help center, Guiding Star, Wakota. I also traded phone numbers with the girl who was pregnant. I asked her what made her change her mind. She said the literature did. She also held up the fetal model as if that was what ultimately changed her mind.
We were blessed today to have our prayer partners, Theresa and Roland, members of the Knights of Columbus, other prayer warriors, and, last but not least, our Blessed Lord. “Prayer supporters make all the difference!” says Abby Johnson (a former PP director). YES THEY DO. If you haven’t been to the sidewalks outside abortion facilities, PLEASE join us. We could use the help, especially the unborn and their mothers!
