On Tuesday, Nov. 28, about 3:00 p.m., volunteer sidewalk counselor Tom S. saw a young lady walking out of Planned Parenthood (PP) in St. Paul looking forlorn and sad. He asked, “Can I help you? Did you have an abortion?” She said she didn’t have an abortion and asked, “What can you do for me?” He told her, “There is help across the street.” She said, ”What do you mean?”
Tom told her that I could walk her to Abria, the nearby pregnancy center, where she could get a free ultrasound and other help. As we walked, I asked her how far along she was. She said she was 9 weeks and wanted the baby but was under a lot of pressure to abort.
I told her what an honor it is that God would tap on her shoulder and ask her to have one of His little ones. She smiled from ear to ear. She seemed so happy about the pregnancy. I told her another PP client had been directed to a pregnancy center that day. She seemed happy to not feel so all alone.
We were invited into Abria and I told the attendant that the young woman needed some help. Praying that those who are pressuring her will instead support her now. God’s grace was working that day, people were responding, and we were blessed to witness it!
