I heard the report — several Planned Parenthood (PP) affiliates out east receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars each to employ “navigators” for the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare. And this concerned me greatly. Then I learned that Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS) was hiring navigators.
A “navigator” under the Affordable Care Act is someone working for an or-ganization that has been awarded the re-sponsibility to sign up uninsured individuals into the Affordable Care Act ex-changes being created for those without adequate or any insurance. And since the Affordable Care Act has mandated that every individual in the nation have insurance, the exchanges are the catch-all programs for those individuals. (In Minne-sota, the exchange is called “MNsure.”)
Further, the Affordable Care Act has required the creation of national databases that share private and personal information with multiple governmental agencies, including the enforcement agency for this draconian law, the IRS. These navigators will receive scant training, are potentially criminals because of the lack of required background checking, and will have access to all this very private and personal information, potentially for anyone in the country, not just those being signed up for the Affordable Care Act.
Back to these PP affiliates. Federal grants totaling up to $54 million have begun to be made to PP and other organizations across the country to hire navigators. And these newly hired PP employees we all are paying for will go out into the community to find everyone they can to enroll them into the exchanges.
Time to start thinking this through. Imagine a creative identity theft artist being hired by PP (since background checks are not required) as a navigator and being given full access to IRS information on anyone they desire to look up. Or, unscrupulous PP directors having their navigators scour through known pro-life individuals’ personal and private medical and financial records. And all this paid for by our tax dollars. And even if the nation’s biggest abortion business, which is the target of a Government Accounting Office nationwide investigation for fraud, doesn’t engage in unethical or illegal practices with the navigator program, we have a program sending PP representatives into our communities to, at the least, promote this evil organization as something wholesome and good, all at taxpayers’ (our) expense.
