On Tuesday, November 28, at about 10:30 A.M., I called out to a girl walking into the St. Paul Planned Parenthood (PP), ”Look at your ultrasound, look at your son or your daughter’s heartbeat before you make any choices today!” Shortly after, she came walking back out and I called out the same thing to her.
She came driving out and rolled down her window to speak with me. She told me she was there for an abortion but I couldn’t hear much more than that with all the passing traffic, so I asked her if she’d be willing to meet me over at the Holiday gas station so that we could communicate better since my hearing isn’t very good.
I met her there and then got the full story.
Her abortion appointment was actually THE NEXT DAY, so PP sent her home (and into our hands). There were three prayer supporters out there with me at this time; they make ALL the difference!
I told her about Wakota (pregnancy help center) and about a great pro-life advocate who works there. I gave her this advocate’s name and contact information as well as Wakota’s address and told her to go down there right away and meet with her. She said that she would do that.
We spoke for about 15 minutes and she shed some tears and told me she was praying to God to help her with her situation and that this was the answer to her prayers.
We parted ways and when I was walking away, I realized I had forgotten to ask her what made her change her mind, so I ran back to her car and when I asked her what ultimately made her change her mind, she replied that when I had said, “Look at your son or your daughter’s heartbeat before you make any choices,” she thought to herself, ”My baby DOES have a heartbeat!” She has texted me a few times since with positive messages, so I’m convinced she will continue to choose life. Thank you Lord for these moments!
