Earlier this year, Tina Smith (who was the Lt. Gov. of Minnesota) was appointed by Gov. Mark Dayton to the U.S. Senate seat vacated by disgraced, pro-abortion senator, Al Franken. Smith is the former Vice President for External Affairs for Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota (PPMNS). She is currently running against Republican State Senator Karin Housley in a special election for that Senate seat.
During Smith’s time at PPMNS (2003-2006), she lobbied against pro-life legislation such as Women’s Right to Know and the Positive Alternatives bill. More recently (while a U.S. Senator), she voted against protecting unborn children from abortion after 20 weeks.
