By Reuben S., volunteer sidewalk counselor
On June 19, two women drove into the Robbinsdale Clinic driveway with their windows down. They were sitting in their car for about 5 minutes and I was able to talk to them, offering help and support and explaining the urgency of their situation and the details of abortion.
After that, one woman got out and went into the clinic. Another sidewalk counselor, Anne O., was able to say some very helpful things as she went in, including that she has adopted children. The woman told Anne that she had three kids and she couldn’t handle more. As the driver left, I was able to talk to her for a minute. She said she was this woman’s mother and acknowledged that this abortion was killing the child, even murder, but “sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.”
The abortion escorts were telling her she didn’t have to listen to us, but we were able to talk for a minute. I was saying that there is another way, even adoption and that there is nothing to justify killing your child. She said ok and backed up into the lot. At that moment the woman came back out and said “thank you” to Anne before getting into the car and leaving. They never came back that day. Please pray that this woman would remain firm in her decision for life.
