Update on Kissimmee, Fla. Planned Parenthood
In August, Planned Parenthood (PP) in Kissimmee was again barred from committing surgical abortions after a three-member judicial review panel from the 5th District Court of Appeals in Daytona Beach denied its motion for reconsideration of a temporary injunction. That injunction was filed on behalf of MMB Properties, which leases space to other medical offices at 610 Oak Commons, across the street from PP.
MMB Properties originally filed for the injunction in June 2014, because it claims PP breaches the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions within Oak Commons Medical Park, which prohibits the property from being used as an outpatient surgical center.
The injunction is temporary until a trial can be held to determine if the injunction will become permanent. That trial date has not yet been set.
“Even though we are very thankful that Planned Parenthood’s four appeals have been denied and the temporary injunction has stayed in place prohibiting surgical abortions, we must remember that PP Kissimmee is still committing chemical abortions,” said Michele Herzog, Director of Pro-Life Action Ministries Central Florida. “We must understand that there will be a hearing for a permanent injunction, which we must be diligently praying about. We need warriors out exposing PP Kissimmee, sidewalk counseling, preaching, worshiping, holding signs and praying. We must press on and pray that this place of death will close completely!”
