In the four months so far of the current Congress, along with the Trump administration, we have celebrated the following pro-life victories:

*First, the prevention of what would have been the unprecedented advancement of pro-abortion policies by Hillary Clinton.

*The confirmation of constitutionalist Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court.

*The reinstatement of the “Mexico City Policy” which bans federal tax money from going to organizations which perform or promote abortion as a method of family planning overseas.

*A vast extension of this approach to foreign aid to the U.S. Agency for Inter-national Development (USAID) and the Departments of State and Defense in their foreign health assistance programs.  According to Rep. Chris Smith, this policy will “significantly mitigate U.S. taxpayer complicity in global abortion.” This new life-saving policy is called the “Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy.”

*The reversal of Pres. Obama’s last-minute favor to Planned Parenthood (PP), prohibiting states from withholding Title X family planning funds from PP or other abortionists.  Therefore, states can now defund PP.  (The House has voted to mostly defund PP on the federal level.  Now contact your Senators and urge them to vote to defund PP!)

* Instructions to the State Department to stop funding the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) because of its support for China’s brutal, repressive population control program, which includes forced abortions and sterilizations.

*The appointment of additional pro-lifers to high-level government positions, including Charmaine Yoest, former president of Americans United for Life, to the position of assistant secretary of Public Affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).  (Her predecessor recently became the vice president of Communications for Planned Parent-hood Federation of America!)  Another pro-lifer appointed to HHS is Teresa Manning as deputy assistant secretary in the Office of Population Affairs which oversees Title X grants.
